Indiefort is the new generic indie games bundle and it's pretty great compared to all the other shit lately
gamersgate doesnt have any drm so you can pretty much download and play.
black market and cardinal quest look fun, steel storm looks boring, and and devil whiskey / kenshi is too grognard
but the real gem is wanderlust: rebirth which is a pretty cool co-op secret of mana ripoff.
if anyone wants to play it, theres a free version and a paid version and its pretty great.

not related but i didn't feel like making a thread

nitnendo just put up a flag for Super Mario 4 which canonically is incorrect due to Super Mario World existing as Super Mario 4 in Japan.

Either way, Miyamoto has been rumored to miss the old style 2D gaming and has also been rumored to want a 2D plane zelda which, if true, would define a whole new generation of indiedevs that don't understand the nature of egoraptors contentious term "theming"

i for one have some hope but w/e if it turns out to be another shitty 'revolutionary' exploit by nintendo
>> ID: eaacb0 0 No. 217102
i would die if there was a new 2d zelda game. i haven't been able to enjoy basically any of the 3D ones since I grew up playing links awakening, oracles, and the port of lttp. i cant even bring myself to care about mario anymore
>> ID: 187f97 0 No. 217104
i grew up with the nes copy and didn't touch another till OoT which solidified my love for the series

i think alttp has a charm that's actually underrated. i know alttp is the top grossing action adventure title on the snes but there are actually little to no games out there that try to replicate a well designed dungeon. that's weird when you think about it but you'll actually start realizing how truthful that is

i hope miyamoto will actually make games again. he hasn't directed anything since twilight princess which just breaks my heart cause he basically fathered an entire generation with good games.

>For Wasteland 2, we’re getting the band back together again! Brian Fargo who Executive Produced both Wasteland and Fallout will be heading the team. Alan Pavlish and Mike Stackpole—the original game’s primary designers—are coming back to put the project together, and we’re rounding up as many of the other designers, like Ken St. Andre, as we can. On top of that, we’ll have music by Mark Morgan of Fallout 1 and 2 fame. The storyline for Wasteland 2 was written by Jason Anderson who was the co-creator of Fallout. We have also enlisted the help of the amazing concept artist, Andree Wallin to help craft the Wasteland 2 world.

i played it 5 years ago from abandonia. i kind of have this general notion they theyre not going to need 2 million dollars to make a turn based 2d dos game though
>> ID: 58cdbf 0 No. 216989

It's gonna be a CRPG: There will be turn based combat done from an isometric perspective. You will have a squad, and complete control over their actions. There may or may not be hexagons. Confrontations will be solvable by various methods. It will be set in a post-apocalyptic setting inspired by such films as Mad Max and Escape from LA, with possible references to- and inspiration taken from 1980s pop culture. The atmosphere will juxtapose 1980s Punk-style nihilism by the threat of nuclear holocaust and mutual annihilation with shots of black humor and occasional "wacky" things that will not attempt to break the tone.

Obsidian's support will mean the implementation of the same framework used to handle conversations as Alpha Protocol, as well as the aforementioned input from Chris Avellone. No Onyx engine, though.

tl;dr Fallout except 80s

Too lazy to use flash drives?? FUND IT.

Thought you guys might be interested in a thing like this, at least for games that don't have steam cloud. I know that this isn't really a game but I figured this was the place to post it.

If you have a desktop at home and a laptop you use at friends places then it is pretty useful. I do that and use flash drives to switch saves around for non-steamcloud games all the time. The program is free btw you don't have to donate, it would just help the people developing it.

OH and

zeno clash
>> ID: d09c1e 0 No. 216835

those games are ok I guess I've played all of them and had some simple fun for a bit but my problems with FPS melee combat:

1. your attacks and your movement (footwork) are disconnected which makes for some really stupid feeling/looking combat.
2. combat is generally just super shallow 4 directional attacking/blocking with no real finesse.
3. to accommodate number 2 and 1 the animations are invariably slow and janky, with guys running around swinging their weapons slowly with their legs just doing whatever the fuck they want.

generally melee combat is a lot harder to do in any game than gun combat, but even so compare those games to say, Street Fighter, or perhaps more accurately a decent 3D fighter, or even a third person beat em up like God Hand or the upcoming Dragon's Dogma. The gameplay depth and fluidity of the animations just blow any FPS melee game out of the water.

Call of Chivalry 4: Medieval Warfare
>> ID: 1254be 0 No. 216843

Dark Messiah actually had you using different attacks based on how you moved around, somewhat simulating footwork. I can forgive slowness because of the perspective involved and because usually each blow matters much more to the flow of the battle. Like Samurai Shodown.
