I thought guarding the box for over a thousand years would have dramatically changed him.
I am pretty sick of the tradition that the female companion's boyfriend has to be a useless fool

Sure, I'm in. Also, as long as Rory's around it's less likely they'll push the Doctor into forced romantic entanglements with Amy, which is best for everybody.

>two people lifting it with seemingly not much effort
>where did they get this, this is 1969
other than that, pretty solid arc.

I suppose so she could be fully conscious and aware for the actual process. But yeah I agree it was a little odd after spending the entire episode talking about how the gangers were equivalent to people. Also, when did he get two sonic screwdrivers? Because both of them had one at the very end there.
>> ID: e9f8ad 1 No. 11622

I'm assuming because that was a "direct control" ganger and not a sentient one.

Didn't very much like this episode, I think there was too much information being given at a throwaway pace.

Excited for episode 7, though. mite b cool

IMO the doctor dies "for real" only to be saved at the last minute too often. I wish they'd try another technique for suspense other than "the main character is gonna die oooOOOooo!"

And Matt Smith needs to grow some eyebrows since he looks like Frankenstein's monster.

AND HITLER WAS IN IT FOR LIKE 2 WHOLE MINUTES! WHAT THE HELL?!

Much better this week now that it was it's own story and not some story which got co-opted by the over arching River Song plot or whatever.
>> ID: 65609f 0 No. 17633
I liked this episode but it wasn't too great.

I wish there were more episodes like Don't Blink for these seasons.

Also, I liked it better when the larger ending was something that was only hinted at with small references or something, like seeing or hearing Bad Wolf or Torchwood once every episode. It was something that gave viewers something to look forward to without it being thrown in your face all the time, like it was with the cracks and is now with River and when the lady was constantly checking up on Amy (it would've been better if the Doctor just continued to say "breathe" every now and then). When they through the cracks in at the end all the time last season it just detracted from the story of the current episode, and then they go ahead and make that a center-piece of an entire two-parter.

Also, is Rory plastic or not?
>> ID: 5801dc 0 No. 17677
>>17633
Rory stopped being plastic after the universe got reset.

Forget time lines, just kill River Song.
>> ID: 9b12cd 0 No. 17758
Well, that was a proper episode. Aside from some really iffy fight choreography, it was very touching.
>> ID: 65609f -1 No. 17764
So, once the Doctor found out that all the patients are actually in their own timestreams, why couldn't he just go out there then? Or is the plague so strong that it can linger in the environment without any carriers? But if it's that strong, then couldn't it come through the TARDIS doors whenever they were opened? Or latch onto the clothes of Amy or Rory?
>> ID: e024e1 0 No. 17766
>>17764
If the doctor could just come with rory, point his screwdriver at time walls and get amy back 10 minutes in then there'd wouldn't be much of an episode.
>> ID: 02ebac 0 No. 18214
The new episode was insufferably fucking cheesy and gaudy even for a Dr Who Christmas special.
>> ID: bee459 0 No. 18231

the stakes are a fucking joke

christmas invasion - slavery of the entire earth's populace
runaway bride - an ancient carnivorous race that would hunt earth's populace
voyage of the damned - death of all life on earth
the next doctor - cybermen takeover of earth
end of time - it's in the title
christmas carol - thousands on board a crashing space liner
doctor, widow, wardrobe - three people and some trees

im on the edge of my fucking seat
