post yer ragequits also behold my 35APM
>>1480 did he do nothing but make marauders if so i greatly approve
>>1481 pretty much, i was using this strategy http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=140629
>>1482 this build sounds interesting and a bit more reliable than my typical "get high templars as fast as fucking possible" build but i do have one question: do you just not get any zealots at all? what about sentries? the only way i can think of getting stalkers to their ramp once only a "couple of their units have been made" would be to bypass zealot production entirely and go straight to stalkers. are there any big risks involved in this? i would assume not many since zealots are easily kited by marines/marauders anyway could you post the replay for this match? i would like to see how it worked out
>>1483 Yes you get a stalker first without any zealots, this is actually very common in PvT as one stalker shuts down all possible reaper harass. Getting a zealot first can be very dangerous as a reaper can just go straight to your probe line and start raping. You save your chrono and rally the first two stalkers directly to their ramp. If you have them completely contained with the stalkers you can throw a few zealots but the point is to get your opponent to go for more marauders against your stalkers. At that point your void rays start coming and you can either end the game there or harass the shit out of him allowing you to expand easily. Sentries aren't needed as much because you are on the aggressive with this build. My replay isn't a good example because my mechanics and timing are sloppy, you should check the replays in the thread I linked, they're pretty good.
i saw that strategy and didnt take it seriously because it basically laid out how i already tried to play pvt anyway (fast core, skipping the zealot, etc)
>>1484 actually it depends on how fast the reaper is coming. if they tech before the first marine then it is usually good to get a zealot out while the core is building to chase the reaper around, otherwise he gets two to four free probe kills while your stalker is building
>>1488 eh it's pretty easy to dodge the zealot while still killing probes, most high level PvTs I've watched always go stalker first unless they're absolutely sure there won't be reaper harass
I opened Phoenix, I think it made him kind of mad.
I just watched that match earlier today AifP that guy is a fucking Elf Lord
>>1510 yeah, i agree, silver is a huge douche
idra rolls again
while idra was being a hilarious there i can't help but feel some anger for a fucking tank drop like that shit uurrrggghhh
idra is a macro-obsessed manchild who can't respond to changing situations
>>1521 Yeah man fuck idra for expressing his opinions on matchups and players? Where does that fucker get off?
Get destroyed IdrA
>>1522 what "apologize for playing that race. i am better than you even if i am losing" sorry buddy that falls under the purview of sportsmanship or common manners (neither if which this butthurt baby has)
he's basically a sore loser i mean the last time i threw a temper tantrum at a game i was eleven
>>1524 I don't think he really wanted that guy to apologize to him for playing terran. He was probably using hyperbole. Regardless of how much Idra was over-reacting, watching that replay I can see why he'd be mad. That drop looked pretty much un-stoppable. There's nothing you could really get up that early to stop that, which means you are either forced to try to do silly shit like build 3 spine crawlers against the ledge (which of course still isn't really going to kill that tank off if it's positioned properly) or just play 1-base zerg against a terran that is un-baneling-bustable AND gets to start building a CC after his second tank so you basically don't even get to expand until after the terran player does. Of course Idra obviously isn't trying to deviate much from the build he knows and he's pissed it doesn't work, but I'm really drawing a blank on a way you could counter that shit that wouldn't basically be an all-in cheese.
>>1527 LT is pretty retarded for any matchup with terran in it, that cliff is absolutely ridiculous.
he had like 10 roaches, couldn't he have loaded six of them up on an overlord, sneak it over in the righthand corner and flank them between that and the spine crawler? I don't know if he had that one upgrade that allows them to carry units, ventral sacs or whatever, and I don't know how hard it is to get because I don't play zerg but that's how he won one of his other games on Metalopolis (by using 5 or so overlords and microing drops in the enemy base). After he killed those guys he could also go in the base the other way since the ramp was fortified every inch. Although I guess he learned that out far too late. Hindsight 20/20
>>1536 drop requires T2, it's a 200/200 upgrade that takes about 1.5 minutes i dont play Z anymore but i think it takes too long to get in time
>>1541 yeah not only that but it's pretty much worthless until you spend another 100/100 and 60 seconds on overlord speed.
he had 3 stargates, but only built zealots the entire time
this was a fun match because it ended up becoming very long
thread revival
>>1908
>>1910 actually the same game he just went afk after making a million cannons it was a long game
hehe
For the record, he 4gated me before saying this. Also I attempted to message him after the game but he had already ignored me.
I'm guessing this guy doesn't like TvZ reactor hellion openings
>>2005 I like it when people in gold/platinum level parrot this shit when they obviously have no fucking clue why people believe it in the first place
>>2113 the helion's driver seems like a pretty accurate representation of your enemy's face.
>>2136 agreed, really fucking annoying seeing silver people bitch about mech, let alone ONLY tanks. lolllll
>>2158 to be fair i had some marines and a thor but his last wave of ultras killed it
but half of these are just quits without any kind of angry comments :x it's common to leave when you see that you cant really win anymore
>>2409 no you dont understand................ if there's no gg then it was obv. a rage quit you see its because every game is a good game..... unless u wanna be bm...........
>i don't understand the concept of gg
sayin gg is pretty dumb unless its in some tournament where you actually acknowledge that you give up or if it was an actual really fun game which is rare its especially stupid in cod or tf2 or something i dunno maybe im being impolite idc
I do use the geegee, when its a decent match, but if either one of us cheeses, or does other dumb shit, aint worth a geegee.
>>2420 It's generally considered the equivalent of shaking the other players hand after a game of chess. You acknowledge your defeat, you applaud the others' skill, and display good sportsmanship.
>>2410 lol this post was reported for trolling/shitposting i only really gg when i feel that i played well half of the time i'll f10 n in a huff because like FUCK I CAN'T BELIEVE I DID THAT SHIT / LET THAT HAPPEN. i guess that's a "rage quit" but w/e...
But don't worry guys, he said he isn't mad
>>2442 If someone quits, and then You are the one who messages after the game then you're trolling, its not them raging.
>>2443 I think it's a little of column A and a little of column B
>>2444 Its 10x more bad manner to message someone after someone loses a game to you than it is to post rage messages after you get beat. Of course they're going to get mad if you talk shit to them after the game is over.
>>2445 people get so emotional over a game that they had to make acronyms for it. just take your smack talk for getting stomped like a bitch
people don't seem to understand ragequitting here quitting when you've clearly already lost is the norm in RTS games >"FUCK U BITCH CHEAP CHEESY SHIT" >fag has left the game. that's a ragequit.
>>2446 Smack talk during the game then, getting messages from retards who think they're hot shit after the game is obnoxious. Also if you're talking shit and you aren't in diamond that's hillarious because you're trash.
>>2448 if you take it seriously then yes you deserve to feel that way. also, I wasn't aware that diamond wasn't full of scummy asshats
>>2445 >>2448 I did it because he teamkilled me in the game No regrets
>>2449 Its not a matter of taking it seriously, its about retards spamming messages. Diamond being full of scummy asshats is a problem with the b.net ladder system. Iccup used distinction between good players whereas Bnet uses distinction between bad ones. Its hard to use a rank as a distinction anymore because its easy for a bad player to get into any division. Nothing would bring me greater joy than having the d- rank attached to your name to prove that you're trash but hey I guess you'll just have to settle for my word on it.
>>2451 Which is why I am still in favor of the Cheddar League.
>>2450 Asp gets trolled by teamkiller, ragemessages him afterward. u know ilu bro >>2452 Yeah I bet you'd fit right in.
>>2454 Well he teamkilled me because i trolled him, hence his rage I then teamkilled him and then he left
wow wabble you're a fucking faggot get that dick out of your butthole
>>2458 u mad bittie? soap is an appropriate name cuz ur probably a scrub(USER WAS BANNED FOR u mad bittie?)
The joke is that you use leagues to determine status
>>2464 You're right, I've been spoiled by iccup. But if the diamond division is filled so many noobies, then it shouldn't be a problem for anyone who's not trash to make it there. So calling anyone not in diamond trash still works.
there is no joke at all, just stop, please
>>2461 >bittie The fuck?
i like dicks in my butt
>>2423 yeah but hearing that shit after a game of tf2 or mw2 or a really shitty game of sc2 is kinda retarded i feel like a jock sayin it and i really dont like doing it
Here's some genuine rage. Can you guess what I did to him?
>>2506 joke about your mineral/gas count
>>2506 if that's a nydus worm in the corner of his base where you sent dozens of banelings to their deaths, kudos
I love Banshees
He tried to ling all-in me, and then tried to roach all-in me.
cause of his rage in next pic
>>2576 Basically his crawlers were positioned in a way that let me walk by them on the left. He rearranged them after I did so but it was too late
not a rage quit but im posting anyway
i scout massed roachers, a quick swap from marine/hellion to rauder/hellion and hold back the roach rush, harass his expos with hellion drops and lure his entire army of 40ish roachers into a marauder/hellion/medivac ambush and lay his ass out him- "same old terran bullshit" me- "you literally only made roaches what do you expect to happen"
surprisingly enough i hadn't heard this one in SC2 yet
>>2833 >>2799 Seeing people get this mad seriously makes me want to start playing multi more regularly.
>>2850 i never get people that mad :(
Do you guys start your games with a "gl hf"? I do every time and I've never had anyone rage at me.
>>2857 i always think people are douchebags when they say that
>>2857 I usually only say it in custom lobbies or if someone else says it first.
>>2858 How is saying "good luck and have fun" being a douchebag? Nigga you retarded.
no rage, just bronze tactics in diamond
>>2862 its like saying "gg" they both give off a vibe of esports attitude 2 me
>>2858 it's as if people want you to know these things even though it's implied while playing a strategy game online. it's so overdone it may as well be scripted to be typed in by the CPU the second you join a game.
lmao are you guys serious
>>2857 it depends on what you do. i've literally had people say "gl hf", and then proxy/rush me in 5 minutes
yeah when I hear "gl hf" i sort of think of it as a prayer begging me to forgive them for what they are about to do
>>2873 yeah but why do cheesers do it too?
>>2874 mindgames
>>2876 no i disagree there. it's a nice formality in a normal game, but when someone does it right before rushing i feel kind of betrayed by my expectations that this was going to be a friendly game.
>>2874 I laugh every time someone GL HF's because they wont be having fun once my cheese hits the fan.
