hey im a protoss player in silver league and i haven't played a single game in season 2, being the king of autism i had the idea that i would play a different race this season and then i would play the next race in season 3. anyway i am probably going to switch to terran first. i have been playing a lot against AI just trying to macro, and i can keep up until i make mules. what are some general concepts i should try to keep in mind since it's probably a lot different than protoss.
what wabble said, i switched from protoss to terran and the biggest thing im having a problem with is not being able to macro to 200 and push out, you gotta constantly be poking and dropping places and shit. but i dont understand the part about mules cuz your first mule should come at like 16 supply and before that youre only making scvs soooooo
so i decided to say fuck it to this idea and ladder as protoss. i subsequently got into gold league. i think that was a sign.
just found the most accurate race comparison image yet
Stop playing Protoss because it is a race for faggots. I'd switch to Terran and learn that race if I were you, perfectly balanced, difficult to play and rewarding. But hey if you like sitting on 2 bases all game then hitting 1a when you max out hey to each his own.
>>8377 don't talk to the creator of the Masaki build with such disrespect
2: Talk about issues unrelated to current match or player
Hello, I'm a terran player that recently switched from protoss and am having alot more fun as of late. I'm having alot of trouble in terran vs terran however, as i'm having a hard time finding an opening that feels right. I've attached what i usually open with in tvts, and here it gets crushed by a simple tank push. I'm hoping there are a few experienced terran players that visit this board that may be willing to help. Thank you.
How to beat the rainman.
>>7866 this is actually nearly identical to what i do absolutely every tvz, push out with tanks and marines as im taking my third. i guess i just need to spread tanks out more? i guess? this is seriously my standard opening and midgame in a replay, ill upload my next tvz on ladder when i get a chance.
heres what usually happens when i lose tvz - in this instance i let zerg sit for around 10 minutes and get manages to get both broodlords and infestors im really not sure how often you have to be poking at zerg to make sure he doesnt do this
>>8588 All the damn time. Seriously.
another example, here i get him to make 6 queens and spine crawlers to hold off a 2rax yet he is still able to make more units than me off of 2 bases really not sure what to do as i had more workers and only got supply blocked once
ok so i was at work thinkin about how if sc2 is an easier game then why do brood war pros struggle with it so much and i started thinkin about independence day (one of my favorite movies) and how jeff goldblum tricked the aliens into bringing an atomic bomb onto their ship i mean the aliens were a super advanced civilization like the koreans are today and because of this they had no idea what a nuclear weapon was, so they brought it on their ship not knowing that it could destroy them. basically the nuke in ID4 is like starcraft 2 and koreans, and jeff goldblum is husky it makes perfect sense when you think of it and i encourage everyone else to use this same analogy whenever this question gets brought up because no one seems to be able to answer it ever and it usually ends all conversations about the skill ceiling in sc2insulting brood war and korea in the same post
>>8411 Now you've done it, everyone duck and cover while andrae retaliates with more analogies
>>8411 nada, boxer, july for his first several months, etc
nada boxer and july were all far past their prime in BW and hadn't played in a starleague or proleague game for months (years for boxer). The era boxer played in is so different than today you could probably take any random B- player off iccup and send them back in time to those days and they would actually dominate. Today nada focuses on school and barely plays and is still code S, boxer looked great vs sen in the TSL, and july is a GSL semi-finalist. Every GSL has been won by a ex-bw pro (some terrible ones too). The most recent sc2 player to play BW at a high level is MVP (took a game off flash in a MSL), and last time I checked he's pretty good. Basically xoxo already said this in chat though
andrae showing some signs of dementia
>jeff goldblum is husky But I like Jeff Goldblum...
dreamhack/protoss bashing general thread for everyone who missed it in python chat today
i wouldnt call him a scumbag its just that the proxy on a map that whitera didnt know was 1v1 is sorta turing complete so mc is just sorta turing complete
>>7688 yeah, it's not like i even watched the games to really judge it. i'm just kind of upset because white-ra is like my favorite player :T
pretty sure making nexuses in july's base and dancing his units in like every broadcasted game ever is what makes him look like more of a douche idra loses and acts like a fartmaster and mc's a fartmaster when he's winning which tends to look worse. asians have no sense of human decency though so it's not surprising anyone who thinks there will be fewer than 2 cheese sets in a finals series is probably wrong; if there's not it means it's a shitty finals where one guy's massively better and can just do his normal thing i.e. mvp >>7677 what u doin calling people scrawny nerds little man, or is u fat as hell¿
>>7688 What the fuck wordfilters to "Turing complete"

Hello everyone, I have no idea how to play ZvZ and this thread is to help me learn it so that I may finally get into masters and win the GSL. Here I have taken some notes while watching Steven coach a lower level Zerg in ZvZ, I took away everything I could and I would appreciate it if you could help me tweak it so that I have a solid game plan. Roach Infestor safe play 14 gas -13 pool -Drone to 15 -~24 expo - Scout with lings -Try to achieve 2 base saturation -Once achieved make nothing but units ___________________ Message too long. >>7900 lose to speedling allins every game forever.
14 pool 13 gas ovie at 15 first 50 gas on bane nest next 100 on speed make pure lings and put them outside his base then make as many banelings as you can and move in and win.
Alright, here's a build where I went 12 pool into a 20 hatch. I was a base ahead the entire time and his mutas did absolutely no economic damage yet I still lost.
>>8077 Why did you run after him?
>>8099 I assumed since I was a base up and since his mutas did 0 damage that there would be no way he could outproduce me.
I dunno if this was already discussed or old news, but boxer has a documentary regarding his SC2 and his life right now. It's very well produced and actually pretty friggin sad at some parts. There's an episode two as well. peep it out homies
woops my youtube didnt embed so if i fuck up again heres the standard link and an embed if it works this time http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BITD7Evc34I

this shit feels like when daniel and tasteless casted off reps during gom season3
is there a way to reset your stats or start over or something? i havent played sc2 in forever but now that i've moved out of res i actually have good internet now but the last couple times i played i realized that i suck shit now and get bludgeoned every game and id rather not get rolled a hundred times until i either get back to where i was or get demoted to gold or silver

>>6866 I got the starjeweled one but I can't find the portrait online
>>6922 yeah you earn them via achievements iirc for the zealot chef it's make 1 of each meal for all 3 rounds of aiur chef for the starjeweled executor heal 3000 hp with the heal spell in a single game of starjeweled for the zerg thingy kill some unit (the stinker or something?) without it killing any of your forces in left2die
>>6977 left 2 die one is really easy I did it by blocking each entrance with planetary fortresses and just autorepairing while my army killed it
