First follow the instructions on the GGPO page.
This includes installing Adobe AIR, installing GGPO, and forwarding UDP ports 6000-6009 and TCP port 7000. Do not skip this last step please.
Start up GGPO and create an account.
Then download sfiii3.zip and sfiii3n.zip and put them in GGPO's ROM folder (do not extract).
You can then jump in the GGPO room and try to connect with somebody to make sure everything's in working order. If you want to play arcade mode or practice by yourself you can go into your GGPO folder and launch ggpofba.exe.

Under high traffic times connecting to another player can sometimes take several tries before it goes through. One way to speed up the connection process is to challenge the same player several times. The second player then accepts the multiple challenges and if one game connects the players then close the games that did not.

Please do not wait until the day of the ranbat to test your shit. If you want to practice and test everything you can hit me up via steam.

Tonight's ranbat i'm going to be a mashing Yun, I've vaguely figured out how to do the corner genei jin shit (very basic though) so I have a fighting chance until I meet someone in the ranbat who's actually a vet of the game.

I've been practicing confirm hits (mentally) all day

Every tourney we have around two matches that can't be played because players can't connect to eachother. 95% of GGPO connection problems are because some dumbfuck forwarded their ports incorrectly. Here are the steps to take if you cannot play your opponent:
1. Go back and check your router settings.
2. Disable firewalls and update Adobe Air, restart GGPO.
3. Don't even try anything else until you've challenged the other person at least a dozen times. Sometimes GGPO just likes to be a fag.
4. Recheck you have the correct ROMs.
5. Undo any changes in settings you've made to your emulator. Do not change dipswitches or disable anything (especially sound).
6. Try connecting to a random player. If you can't connect to anybody the problem is you (and also means you didn't test GGPO beforehand you stupid shit)
7. Play rock paper scissors. I may be able to float you but I do not think Challonge supports it.

If you're stuck at a black screen for longer than 10 seconds or so it's not going to connect. Quit out and try again.
