also gonna posit my 2 cents on the issue anyways: while i spend too much on clothes i dont really get the idea that 100$+ is extravagant for a pair of shoes. depending what type of shoe youre talking about there are usually many options in the 200-250 range that will last many times longer than most pieces of shit you get from mens wearhouse or jos a bank or whatever shitty store. in fact if theres one piece of your wardrobe where its best to spend big rather than small its footwear imo, the jump in quality and aesthetic appeal as well as longevity and durability is absolutely worth it. even if you dont care about dressing really nice or whatever id advise pretty much everyone to invest in nicer shoes when it comes to footwear. barring that you can sometimes find nice shoes thrifting, so even then id recommend thrifting your shoes over buying shitty mall brand shoes

edit: this also is really true if youre willing to dig and hunt through ebay and b&s and the like. ive seen some amazing ass deals [like 89$ aldens] come and go on the internet
