Also, I fell on the floor laughing when I heard Jason Alexander is playing Cosmo.

You bet your ass that Larry David is going to be in this. $20 to him playing Denzel Crocker.

>The animated series focused on 10-year-old Timmy's refusal to grow up, so he could keep his fairy godparents. In the movie, an older Timmy is still in the fifth grade and living at home, but all that changes when he begins to have feelings for Tootie (Victorious' Daniella Monet), a nerdy girl who has grown into a beautiful woman and returned to town. Timmy must make a choice between his godparents or growing up and being in love.

Drake fucking Bell. Really. Timmy Turner is Drake Bell.
>> ID: 16dba4 0 No. 5987
this concept would be hilarious and absolutely incredible if it weren't butch hartman working on a script that deals with romance

like anyone who caught any episodes of danny phantom at all or later episodes of fairly oddparnets knows that his attempts at "serious" writing are absolutely fucking hamfisted. we'll go into this expecting an absolutely hilarious "so bad it's good" thing and just witness utter pain because he is THAT BAD at writing

also i really don't imagine a guy who is 23-years-old and in fifth grade because he refuses to give up his fairies looking as clean and non-obese as drake bell, i imagine some sort of pokey minch-esque manchild

didn't they show at some point that while timmy would have his fairies for longer than most kids it was more because he was just a responsible kid and he would still grow out of them at a reasonable age?

Also Larry David for Timmy's older father and Richard Lewis as older Sheldon Dinkleberg.

Yeah, the future Timmy voiced by Alec Baldwin is shown in Channel Chasers after he fixes the timeline. Cosmo and Wanda are now the fairy godparents of his two kids, whose appearance suggests that Tootie is their mom.
>> ID: 16dba4 0 No. 5994
>>5991
yeah that

they really shouldn't have continued the series after that movie, at all. what the fuck happened to hartman's writing skills, fairly oddparents was a genuinely entertaining cartoon up until that point and now every goddamn thing he does is utter drivel.
>> ID: 1a3ce3 0 No. 5995
>>5994
>they really shouldn't have continued the series after that movie, at all
The same thing happened with Spongebob, it was supposed to end with the movie but Nickelodeon was damned if it was going to let its biggest cash cow die so they keep making it, no matter how bad the new episodes are. I think I remember Fairy Oddparents being good but that's probably nostalgia since I can't for the life of me recall any good episodes, only thing that comes to mind is just how the only joke was the one running gag in every episode and Cosmo being randumb.

Movie's just another attempt at milking the FOP franchise, no big surprise. Nick doesn't care about quality anymore and they haven't for a long time.
>> ID: 16dba4 0 No. 5996
>>5995
even though spongebob definitely declined in quality i don't think it got BAD imo. the thing is, it feels like they're still trying to put out something good with spongebob but nick is just milking it far too much. they tote every new episode as a MAJOR NICKELODEON EVENT and have a giant spongebob marathon leading up to it...and then it's just one 15-minute cartoon and not even a full episode

but then when i watch repeats and they're ones i haven't seen they are actually not all that bad imo. spongebob has definitely "devolved" but i don't think it's the same as fairly oddparents' problem, butch hartman was on board for the entire thing and he tried to make you take this lighthearted "kid with fairies" concept SO SERIOUSLY in the later episodes and they stopped making it a simple innocent cartoon

you're probably right in saying that being a kid played a good part in why fairly oddparents was much better before that second movie, though

In all honesty, the Crocker actor does as good of a job as you can expect from a live-action Crocker (his spasms are severely limited, though). But Drake Bell as Timmy and the live action fairies ruin any chance of this movie being good.

>>6366
1) butch hartman takes his ideas way too seriously and truly thinks that this show will translate to live action well

2) because it will be absolutely hilarious to see how bad this will be
>> ID: eb6c48 0 No. 6375
>>6365
I'd watch it strictly for the Crocker actor. This is probably going to be one of those "it's so bad, it's good" movies.
>> ID: 968d5c 0 No. 6376
what i dont get is why they dont use editing to make him go instantly from one pose to another, like the show

>> ID: 16dba4 0 No. 6379
>>6378
i more or less meant the fact that a live action FOP thing is even happening to begin with is in part because he takes his ideas way too seriously

i don't know if he actually wrote the script here, but really the story definitely sounds in line with the kind of crock he pumped in danny phantom + later seasons of FOP

also the guy playing crocker's good but he looks younger than crocker did in the show but is supposed to be v old which is what's really bugging me
>> ID: eb6c48 0 No. 6393
>>6379
What are you talking about? Crocker's somewhere in his 40's. The actor fits fine.
>> ID: 414820 0 No. 6397
>>6374
That would explain why FOP quality slowly decreased as the show went on into the later seasons.
>> ID: 16dba4 0 No. 6399
>>6393
crocker was somewhat in his forty's in the cartoon

if timmy is 23 now crocker should be like 50-60 i forget how hold timmy was supposed to be

but they make OLD MAN jokes like him getting the runs and having neck problems so I was getting the implication that he was supposed to be old
