Just in case you don't get told, If you go Army or Marines there is a chance basic training may be really hard. The level of difficulty is based on who your leadership is. You may get a group who don't give a fuck and basic will be easy, then you may get a group who GIVE A FUCK and your life will be hell for 9 - 10 weeks.

You are going to regret what you did after the first week, I guarantee it.

THE SHIELD OF FREEDOM

Coast Guard is badass, I have a particular liking of them because I see them often, being a Floridian. Plus their helicopters are awesome.

I know there's already been a lot of 'I'm moving out' threads but this one's a little different.

I hear a lot about how you shouldn't be roommates with your best friend or you shouldn't work with them. Does anyone have any experience with rooming/working with good friends? Is it really that bad?

Don't room with a good friend, you'll wind up hating each other on some level.

Room with a friend you're not *great* friends with or with an acquaintance. This has been mentioned already, though.

Also, whatever you do, don't room with a stranger; you never know what sorts of shit you'll be putting up with. If you *have* to room with a stranger, try to meet them and get to know them a bit first to get an idea of what you're in for.
>> ID: e287d4 1 No. 6748
It all depends on you and your ability to handle relationships with others.

I roomed with close friends for 2 years and it was great. Of course you'll have your arguments and fights, but so long as both of you aren't immature or sheltered you'll be able to understand one another and move on from any disputes a-ok.

You have to be able to go bend a little and understand that you're just 1/2 of the relationship, the world doesn't revolve around your wants/needs.

Remember that one time I told you guys I was going to move to LA with a buddy of mine? Well, for a while I've put that aside. My "buddy" has gone MIA and avoided contact with me. So for a good amount of time this endeavor seemed hopeless. But I've realized that I need to stop pushing it back and I just need to go and DO IT.

So...any tips? Would any California FA bros be willing to have me as a roomie? Getting an apartment for myself would be too much $$$ and I'd rather move in with an FAer before complete randoms.

THIS IS GONNA HAPPEN

Every time I want to go get a fucking brew
I gotta go down to the store with the two
Oriental one-penny-counting motherfuckers;
They make a nigger mad enough to cause a little ruckus.
Thinking every brother in the world’s out to take,
So they watch every damn move that I make.
They hope I don’t pull out a Gat, try to rob
Their funky little store but, bitch, I got a job.

So don’t follow me up and down your market
Or your little chop suey ass will be a target
Of a nationwide boycott.
Juice with the people, that’s what the boy got.
So pay respect to the black fist
Or we’ll burn your store right down to a crisp.

Have you ever peed in the shower?
Almost 75 percent of poll-takers have.

Let’s start with a few facts: Toilet flushing accounts for almost 27 percent of indoor water use in a home. The amount used per flush ranges from a gallon in eco-friendly models to a whopping seven in older types. Where are we going with this? We beseech you: Save water. Save the planet! Pee in the shower! OK, we won’t insist. But it isn’t really that gross. Unless you have an infection, urine is sterile and nontoxic. Proponents of “urine therapy” even believe it can help treat athlete’s foot. Heck, Dr. Billy freely admits that he is a shameless shower squirter.

>>6612
sitting on the bowl after a shower is really uncomfortable, and its frustrating when the tp falls apart in your hands. besides, taking a shit before you shower can let you clean off poo residue and get rid of that poo smell

So I'm looking at some rooms for rent that I would assume other people would be living in the same house, since living in a dorm would be too expensive and cost $4000 with food plans and shit. Not exactly sure how the process goes but I grabbed all the ones on the bulletin board while at the university I plan to attend.

Should I call or just e-mail them? Any advice is appreciated.

If you are living in ypsi and going to emu my advice is don't wander around after like 8 because you will probably be accosted by homeless or muggers. glhf
>> ID: a80c6c 0 No. 6431
>>6429
It's not nearly that bad. Most of the homeless spend their time in Ann Arbor and unless you are a tiny white girl you are generally safe to walk around alone as long as you don't intentionally walk into the ghetto areas.

just throwing it out there that that means Leforge, in emu terms. everything else that isn't obviously going to be bad (far away from campus or downtown or depot town) isn't bad.
Also, the only thing that ever happens in Ann Arbor is being asked for change errday

most of the homeless from Ann Arbor are from Adrian cause that's where the majority of crazy,insane,crack-addicted homeless people in Michigan come from

ok so in high school i took ap bc calculus, understood the material fairly well enjoyed the class got a 4 on the ap exam. that was almost a year and a half ago, and i have done literally nothing past sixth grade algebra since then. monday i am starting my calculus 3 class (this college moves rather slow, calc 3 here encompasses what is probably somewhere between calc 1.5 and calc 2.5 at a more advanced school)

we have drop/add for the first week so if it turns out i dont remember jack shit i can just drop down to cal 2, but i would rather not do that, so what would be some online materials to at least serve as a good refresher or supplements or whatever the fuck

isnt it like 1-tan(x)
>> ID: 73661f 0 No. 6454
>>6452

No. Actually it's sin(2x). cos(2x)=cos^2(x)-sin^2(x)=1-2sin^2(x)

1-tan^2(x)= 2tan(x)/tan(2x)

Which is why having trig identities on a cheat-sheet is a godsend. You know if your professor was a huge fan of trig-subs.
>> ID: ad0af8 0 No. 6455
>>6454
The sad thing is it's so much more helpful to students if a teacher actually teaches you HOW you get those derivations. Only one of mine did, and I was taking calc2 again in college for real credit.

Deriving other things from trig functions like this is so helpful in so many other areas.
